Assistant Director - Monica

Hello, name is Monica and I have been working at Little Hands Academy since 2012. I graduated from Curry College in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Management and a minor in Early Education. I have been working in and out of centers since 2005, and after graduating from college I realized my true passion was working in the early childhood field. Most of my experience has been working in the big corporate centers, however, I find that I have been most happy working at little hands and truly getting to know all the children and families. I like to spend my free time with my almost 3 year old son, my husband, and our dog!

My name is Sally and I have been in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2010. After graduating from high school I attended the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth for one year to study art. Although art remains one of my many passions and talents, it wasn’t until I became a student at Quinsigamond Community College that I realized a career centered around children was one I was not only skilled in, but thoroughly enjoyed as well. In 2010, I received my Associates Degree from Quinsigamond Community College, and later I went on to earn my Bachelor’s Degree from Worcester State University in 2015. I currently have my Director I and II, Lead Preschool and Lead Infant/Toddler teaching certifications. Along with my love for the visual arts, my hobbies include reading, attending live music events and baking. I also enjoy surrounding myself with oved ones especially during the autumn and Winter Holidays, because autumn is my favorite time of year.

OLDER PRESCHOOL
Sheila

Hi I’m Sheila! Childcare has always been a part of my life. I grew up surrounded by children, seeing that my mother was one of the first women to open a day care, let alone three. From then I was hooked. I started in High School from there went to Wheelock, Roxbury Community and Lesley College. I took a break from teaching, however I found myself yearning and missing the love passion, creativity and how rewarding teaching is. I am a mother of one daughter and have two beautiful granddaughters ages 18 and 16.

Owner - Nina Aaron

My name is Nina Aaron. I have been in the field of education since I was a child and teaching professionally since I was 16. My parents knew I would be in the field of education very early in my life. My grandmother always called me “The Pied Piper,” because I always had children following me wherever I went.

When I was 16 I decided to begin feeling out my options in teaching. I began working at a Crisis Call Center; I quickly realized that it was not what I was looking for. I then began working at “Gymboree Play and Music.” I really enjoyed being the teacher and having an impact on the children and families. This is when I realized I wanted to be a teacher.

I decided to go to the University of Hartford and participate in their Education program. During my college career I taught many different grade levels, beginning with the 4th grade. My Academic Advisor came to me one day and asked if I was interested in a job working with inner city preschoolers in Hartford, CT and I jumped at the opportunity. Shortly after that meeting, I began teaching and realized I loved teaching this age group. I graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Minor in Behavioral Studies.

That following August I moved to Cambridge, MA to attend graduate school at Lesley University. While doing this I took a break from formal teaching and became a Nanny to a wonderful family. This is where my “niece” comes in. In 2002, I meet Samantha (she was 6 months old). I learned so much from watching her grow and enjoyed the different stages of her development. When I graduated from Lesley University, I received my Master’s Degree in Education with and without Disabilities. I returned to teaching at Gymboree in Waltham, Framingham and Newton. I then received a Pre-K teaching job with a start-up school in the Metro West area. I spent a year there before finding Little Red Wagon PlaySchool. I loved the curriculum and realized I was teaching this way most of my career. It was a perfect match! After teaching at Little Red Wagon I felt it was time to further my career, so I left to be a Program Coordinator with a corporate center. Shortly after leaving Little Red Wagon, Gail and Reed approached me with an offer of taking over their school. I thought about it and could not refuse. So now I am back as the owner and loving it.

It has been my lifelong dream to own my own school and now I am. I am so excited to share this with you.

THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING LITTLE HANDS ACADEMY!!
